An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat trainer version of the Soviet interceptor Sukhoi Su-15, in the Su-15UM variant, in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the late trainer version with two cockpits arranged one behind the other. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, with a decal sheet and illustrated building instructions.
The Sukhoi Su-15 (NATO reporting name Flagon) was a Soviet twin-engined Cold War interceptor intended to protect airspace against bombers. The Su-15UM version was a two-seat trainer variant derived from the late Su-15TM version. Unlike the older Su-15UT trainer it kept the length of the fuselage; part of the equipment was sacrificed for the second cockpit. It was the last production batch of this type, from the end of the 1970s.
Separate the parts from the sprues, clean them up and glue them with thin cement for plastic. Apply a base primer; natural metal surfaces come out well in shades of aluminum applied with an airbrush, and the individual panels can be graded subtly. Pick out the engraving with a wash. With this fighter consider weight in the nose depending on the balance of the finished model.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
