An injection-molded plastic kit of the Russian heavy fighter Su-27SM in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. It is a new mold with finely engraved panel lines, capturing the modernized version of the Flanker. The box contains plastic parts and waterslide decals; the model is a rewarding basis for adding available detail sets too.
The Sukhoi Su-27 (NATO reporting name Flanker) is a Soviet and Russian heavy twin-engined fighter intended to win air superiority, famous for its large fuel load, its range and its agility. The SM version is its later modernization with improved avionics, radar and a broadened range of precision underwing armament. The Flanker is among the most capable fighters of its generation and serves with the Russian Air Force and abroad.
Use thin cement for plastic, and finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Apply primer before varnishing and lay the colors on with an airbrush; Russian Flankers typically wear blue-gray camouflage with several shades and soft transitions. Finish the underwing armament and the tanks separately and glue them on at the end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
