Sukhoi T-49 1:72 from Amodel is an injection-molded short-run kit of the Soviet experimental interceptor fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from Amodel captures the Soviet experimental Sukhoi T-49 fighter in 1:72 scale. It is a short-run model of a lesser known prototype; the finished aircraft is roughly 25 cm long. The set holds a clear sprue for the cockpit canopy and decals.
The T-49 was a development branch based on the airframe of the Su-9. It was marked by side air intakes along the sides of the nose, which freed the nose for a large radome. The aim was better harmony between the power plant and interceptor capability; the machine remained at the prototype stage, and it is therefore a rewarding subject for collectors of experimental aircraft.
As with a short-run model, count on dry-fitting the parts, cleaning the edges up and careful fitting of the air intakes and the nose. Use a thin cement for plastic, fill the joints lightly and unify the surface with a primer before spraying. The metal surfaces of the airframe come to life with a restrained emphasis of the panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
