Armory 1:72 Supermarine Spitfire wheels with a block tread pattern and four-spoke hubs is a resin accessory set replacing the plastic wheels from the kit. The tires have a weighted tire effect and the hub is lightened by four spokes.

This is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory wheel set in 1:72 scale from the Armory company for Supermarine Spitfire kits. The distinguishing feature of this variant is a block tread pattern combined with a hub with four spokes; other Spitfire wheel sets from the same manufacturer have a different pattern and a different number of spokes.
In 1:72 the block pattern can practically not be cast in injection-molded plastic at a usable fineness, and the parting line across the tread breaks it up as well. A resin casting keeps the pattern crisp right around the circumference and the spokes of the hub come out thin and open. The weighted tire effect matters too: the bottom of the tire is flattened the way the rubber sits under the weight of the aircraft, so the model rests on the ground with a flat contact patch.
The Spitfire was a single-engine fighter with landing gear retracting outward from the wing root and with a narrow wheel track. Several types of hub alternated on it in the course of production, from fully covered to lightened with a varying number of spokes, along with several tread patterns. The combination of pattern and hub therefore belongs to a particular machine and its time; it is not an arbitrary detail.
Wash the castings in warm soapy water to rid them of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife, do not snap them, and level the surface with a file and fine abrasive paper; sand wet or with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). After the primer, spray the tire dark gray and paint in the spokes of the hub with a brush. Secure the small parts on your bench so that they do not get lost.
The set is an accessory, not a kit of the aircraft. It is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
