This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian maker UM (Unimodels) captures the German Marder III tank destroyer in its Ausf. M version (Sd.Kfz. 138). The set usually comes with photo-etched parts and plastic tracks built up by the link-and-length method.
The Marder III Ausf. M was created on the chassis of the Czechoslovak LT vz. 38 tank, designated Panzer 38(t) in German service. The engine was moved to the middle of the hull and a low fighting compartment with a 75 mm anti-tank gun was created at the rear. The vehicle was produced from 1943 and fielded on every front as a mobile anti-tank weapon with an open superstructure.
First finish the running gear and the interior of the fighting compartment, and only then close up the superstructure. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement and use cyanoacrylate glue on the small photo-etched parts. We recommend spraying the model with an airbrush over a primer; you will build the weathering of mud and dust effects with washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
