1:72 USMC F4J detail set from Black Dog is a detail set for a model of the F-4J Phantom II carrier fighter in the equipment of the United States Marine Corps.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is meant to refine a model of the Phantom in the fit of the US Marine Corps. The Black Dog brand has long concentrated on accessories that deal with exactly those areas of the airframe where an injection mold holds back for technical reasons. The exact list of contents is not stated here.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4J was the naval version of the Phantom II, used by Marine Corps squadrons alongside naval aviation. Against the earlier series it received a more capable radar, reworked boundary layer control and strengthened landing gear for operations from the deck. The two-seat machine with its two J79 engines was among the most widespread combat aircraft of its day, and in Marine Corps colors it flew both in the fighter role and in the direct support of ground units.
Work through the individual assemblies: first dry-fit them, and only then sand and glue. Clean and degrease the points of contact, otherwise neither the paint nor the glue will hold as they should. Do the sanding with respiratory protection and preferably wet. Before painting it is worth a base coat of filler primer, which evens the surface out and reveals any remaining scratches. The gray-blue Marine Corps schemes come off well when you accent the panel lines only discreetly.
You obtain the aircraft model itself separately; the set serves to improve it.
