A Montex masking set for a model of the Vickers Valetta C.1 in 1:72 scale helps to spray the frames of the glazing of this British transport aircraft straight and with a sharp edge.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of Montex masks for painting a model of the British twin-engine Valetta C.1 transport. It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory whose turn comes once you have the model glued and are about to spray the camouflage. The masks separate the clear areas from the frames so that the transition comes out straight and without creep.
The Valetta came about after the Second World War by adapting the Viking airliner for military use. A strengthened floor, wide cargo doors and Bristol Hercules radial engines turned it into a universal carrier of troops and materiel. The C.1 version was the most numerous transport variant of the Royal Air Force and served among other places over the Malay Peninsula and the Middle East. For its noise and its rugged nature the crews took it as a reliable workhorse of overseas bases.
First wash the glazing in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap and let it dry completely. Seat the template exactly into the shape of the frame and press the edges down with a blunt toothpick so that nothing creeps under the edge. Apply the paint in several thin coats, and the first of them can be the shade of the cockpit interior so that the frames look right when seen from inside too. Remove the masks while the paint has only just dried.
The package does not contain the aircraft model, the paints or thinner.
