A cut self-adhesive masking set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not a kit or a model but an accessory for modelers in 1:72 scale that makes masking the cockpit glazing and the wheels more accurate and quicker while spraying paint. The precisely shaped masks are in fine Japanese kabuki tape.
The masks are stuck onto the frames of the cockpit glazing and the side windows and onto the wheel hubs, so that spraying leaves the glazing clear and the wheels free of paint. Kabuki tape conforms to curved surfaces, holds tightly and leaves no adhesive when lifted. The glazing frames thus come out sharp and clean with no cutting by hand.
The Westland Wessex was a British multi-purpose helicopter developed from an American design and powered by turboshaft engines. The HU.5 version was intended for the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines as an assault and transport machine for landing troops and carrying cargo. It served among other things in amphibious operations and rescue work.
The set holds only the cut masking parts. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
