An injection-molded plastic kit of the American LCM landing craft of the Mk. III type of the Second World War in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The package contains plastic parts, decals and assembly instructions. The assembled model measures roughly 22 cm.
The LCM(3) was an American landing craft for vehicles (Landing Craft, Mechanized). A longer hull and greater buoyancy made it possible to carry a tank weighing around 30 tons, or a corresponding load or troops. A folding bow ramp allowed landing directly on a beach. These craft were widely used in Allied amphibious operations.
Paint the hull and the inside of the cargo well before closing it up. Give the deck and the ramp scuffing and traces of service. An airbrush suits a naval scheme, followed by emphasis of the panels and corrosion marks with washes and pigments. The model can be completed with a stand or a water surface in a diorama.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
