Yak-1b Vacu Canopy masks — a set of die-cut masking stencils in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Brengun for spraying the canopy frames of the Soviet Yak-1b fighter cleanly.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masks from the Czech maker Brengun, intended for a particular Brengun kit - specifically for the vacuum-formed canopy of the Yak-1b in 1:72 scale. The masks save the slow job of outlining the frames by hand and guarantee crisp, clean edges even on the small glazing of this 1:72 scale model.
The Yakovlev Yak-1b is a late variant of the Soviet Yak-1 fighter of the Second World War. It differs from the earlier batches in its cut-down fuselage spine and a bubble canopy with all-round vision - and it is the divisions of that canopy that the masks follow.
First degrease the surface of the canopy and make sure it is clean and dry. Lift the individual masks off the backing with tweezers or the tip of a scalpel, seat them according to the divisions of the frames and press the edges down lightly with a toothpick. Spray the frames first in the interior color, then in the camouflage shade. Peel the masks off once the paint has dried - the edges will stay crisp with no paint creep.
This is a masking accessory, not a model in its own right. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
