Resin wheels for the Yakovlev Yak-141 in 1:72 scale from Armory will refine the landing gear of a model and help it stand steadily on all three wheels.
Responsibility details are not available.
An aftermarket resin set for a Yak-141 model in 1:72 scale. It replaces the landing gear wheels from the plastic kit and is an accessory for a build, not a model of the aircraft. On machines with short landing gear legs the way the wheels touch down is more visible than on tall landing gear, so a more accurate wheel shape has a surprisingly large effect on the final impression.
The Yakovlev Yak-141, under the western code name Freestyle, was a Soviet supersonic aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing, tested at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s. It combined a main engine with a vectoring nozzle with a pair of lift engines behind the cockpit. It never reached series production and only a small batch of prototypes was built, which makes it a type met in model form mainly among collectors of Soviet and Russian hardware.
Wash the mold release agent off the castings, otherwise the paint will flake once dry. Cut the casting block off and level the surface so that the wheel sits on the axis. On a model with short landing gear legs it pays to glue the wheels on right at the end and to stand the model on a flat board while the glue sets, so that it touches down on all three points at once and does not rock. Paint the tire in dark gray, the hub in a lighter shade and emphasize the transition with a fine dark wash.
An accessory for building a model, not a finished aircraft nor a kit of one. Paints, glue and the base model should be obtained separately.
