A plastic kit of the British Daimler Mk.II armored car of the Second World War, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Daimler Armoured Car was a British armored car with four-wheel drive intended for reconnaissance. It came into being at the end of the 1930s and from the start it was built as a single unit without a separate frame, with independently sprung wheels, which gave it agility and a decent road speed. The crew was made up of three men. In the turret it carried a 40 mm gun, in British terminology a two-pounder, and a coaxial 7.92 mm machine gun. The car also had a second driving position for reversing, so that the crew did not have to turn around on a narrow road. The Mk.II is a later production form which differed from the first cars in modifications to the front section and to the mounting of the main weapon.
A length of the real subject of around four meters gives a model about eleven centimeters long in 1:35 scale. It is therefore a smaller piece of equipment which is easy to put into a scene with figures or next to larger vehicles of the same scale, where it gives them a sense of scale.
It pays to assemble and test the wheel suspension first, so that the car stands level on all four wheels. Clean the parts of excess material and of marks left by production, sand the mating surfaces and dry-fit the assembly. Paint the turret separately from the hull, as it is easier to get inside it. Reconnaissance cars tended to be dusty and scuffed on the edges of the fenders and the hatches, so do not shade the model too cleanly.
The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue, filler and figures are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
