57mm OQF 6 pdr L/50 & L/36.5

RB model 57mm OQF 6 pdr L/50 and L/36.5 – turned gun barrels

The set holds precisely turned metal gun barrels of the British Ordnance Quick-Firing 6 pdr gun of 57 mm caliber, in two barrel length versions – the longer L/50 and the shorter L/36.5. The parts replace the plastic gun barrels from the kit and bring a faithful profile, a straight axis and a clean muzzle.

The real subject

The six-pounder OQF 6 pdr gun of 57 mm caliber was a British anti-tank gun of the Second World War period. It served both as a towed anti-tank gun and as the main armament of a number of tanks and armored vehicles. The different barrel lengths matched the individual production versions of the gun.

Fitting and use

The gun barrels are intended for more advanced modelers. Wash the parts, level any casting remnant and fit them with cyanoacrylate glue. A metal gun barrel holds its shape, takes sanding and looks very realistic once varnished and weathered.

Who the set is for

• Builders of British armored vehicles and towed anti-tank guns of 57 mm caliber
• Modelers who want the choice between a longer and a shorter gun barrel
• Those interested in perfect alignment instead of a plastic barrel

This is an accessory to a model, not a stand-alone kit. It is supplied unpainted, without the basic kit and paints.
