Responsibility details are not available.
A figure from the maker Black Dog on the subject of an infantryman of the Common Army in the years of the First World War. It is a free-standing figure for a collection or a scene, not an accessory to a model of a machine.
The Common Army was a multinational body in which orders were given in German while the rank and file spoke a dozen other languages. After 1914 it became clear that the existing blue-gray uniform was too conspicuous in the field, and gray-green and later brownish shades took its place. The fighting reached the plains of Galicia, the hills of Serbia and the high mountain terrain in the south, so the field equipment was above all plain and practical.
A muted palette tempts you into dullness, so work with differences in wear: cloth reflects light differently than leather straps and canvas webbing. Keep the dry brush in check and suggest dirt only where it would really arise, that is, on the boots, along the lower hems and where the equipment touches the body. Warming the shade on the higher surfaces will visually lighten the figure. It is also worth muting the sheen of the whole figure at the end, because field equipment of this period never looked new and polished.
You receive the figure with no finish, and every decision about color remains yours.
