Injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary Concorde supersonic airliner in 1:144 scale from Revell. It is a model of a long, slender fuselage with the characteristic delta wing. The kit lets you build the drooping nose in two positions and the landing gear either extended or retracted; the enclosed decals match the British Airways livery. The small 1:144 scale makes the finished model a pleasantly compact and striking piece, suitable for collectors of civil airliners as well.
The Concorde was a British-French supersonic airliner, one of only two types ever to carry passengers regularly at more than twice the speed of sound. It was powered by four Olympus turbojet engines and on transatlantic routes it cut the flight from Europe to America down to a few hours. Its hallmark was the drooping nose, which gave the pilots a better view on takeoff and landing. It entered scheduled service in 1976 and remains a symbol of the supersonic era to this day.
Use thin cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Decide in advance whether you will build the nose and the landing gear extended or retracted. Lay down a primer before painting and apply the paints with an airbrush; for the clean white areas of an airline scheme, a smooth, well-sanded surface pays off. Apply the decals over a gloss coat so that no silvered edges appear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
