This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:144 scale captures the American special reconnaissance aircraft RC-135V/W Rivet Joint derived from the jet transport Boeing C-135 series. The model from Roden is a modern molding with rich external detail of aerials and sensors. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The RC-135V/W Rivet Joint is the main American aircraft for gathering signals intelligence. Its task is to find sources of radio signals, to track ground, naval and air targets, to intercept communications and to monitor air defenses. It is characterized by numerous aerials, side reconnaissance panels and a lengthened forward fuselage.
It is a more demanding build; with a large fuselage in a small scale, take care over a firm and clean join of the halves and over cleaning up the long seams. Fit and paint the many small aerials only at the end so that they do not break off. For an even application of light gray shades use an airbrush and a fine highlighting of the panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
