Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit figure of a Norse warrior of the Viking age in 1:16 scale from ICM. The model captures an armed man of the ninth century with period dress, an axe and a shield. The figure is injection-molded in polystyrene and consists of several parts, which makes it possible to work out the details of the pose, the equipment and the weapons. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Vikings were Norse seafarers, traders and warriors who in the early Middle Ages made expeditions across the whole of Europe. The typical equipment of a warrior consisted of a simple tunic and trousers, leather and cloth accessories, a wooden shield with a metal central boss and an axe or a sword. It is precisely this combination of civilian dress and simple but effective weapons that is characteristic of the figure and makes it a rewarding subject for painting.
Separate the parts carefully from the sprue and clean up the parting lines. Glue them with thin modeling cement for plastic, and fill and sand the joints if needed. For the best result a base coat before painting is recommended, along with attention to smooth transitions on the face and to the modeling of the fabrics. Acrylic and enamel paints both suit the figure, and details can be picked out with glazes and with a dry brush. The larger 1:16 scale leaves room for careful shading and for a realistic treatment of textile, leather and metal.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
