A plastic kit of the twin-engine bomber Martin Baltimore in the Mk.I and Mk.II versions, scale 1:48. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Baltimore was an American twin-engine bomber built for a European order and used by the Royal Air Force and by the units of other Allies, above all in the Mediterranean and over North Africa. It was powered by Wright R-2600 radial engines and the machine was marked by a narrow, tall fuselage in which the crew could not move between the individual stations in flight. The early Mk.I and Mk.II versions still did not have the powered dorsal turret that later machines received.
A model of the Baltimore in 1:48 scale, covering the early Mk.I and Mk.II versions. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and the parts have to be cleaned up, glued and painted. The differences between the two early versions are small, so choose the variant according to the markings you want to use and decide before you close the fuselage up.
The nose glazing is extensive and the inside of the aircraft is visible through it, so finish the interior before you glue the fuselage together. Mask the frames before spraying the paint. On the engine nacelles and the main landing gear a dry fit pays off, otherwise a gap threatens that is hard to fill because of the surrounding detail. A desert scheme takes pronounced fading of the upper surfaces, but keep the transitions soft.
The set is for a modeler who has several kits behind them and wants a less common Allied bomber in the collection.
Paints, glue and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
