A complete starter set from the German manufacturer Revell in 1:24 scale. The manufacturer states 148 parts, a length of the finished model of 182 mm, difficulty level 4, that is for modelers with experience, and a recommended age from twelve years. Beside the injection-molded plastic kit and the decals, the box also holds the basic Aqua acrylic paints, Contacta Professional Mini glue with a fine cannula and a brush, so the basic equipment for the build is at hand right away. The edition marks seventy years since the subject was presented.
The BMW 507 is a two-seat roadster that was produced from 1956 to 1959, and only 252 were built. Its creation was pushed by the American importer Max Hoffman, who was looking for a European rival to the Mercedes 300 SL, and the body was drawn by Albrecht Graf von Goertz. Under the hood is an aluminum 3.2 liter V8 with an output of around 150 horsepower, the gearbox is a four-speed one and the rear axle is driven. The car was presented to the public at Frankfurt in the fall of 1955. In sales terms it was a flop; today the 507 is among the most sought-after postwar European cars.
The body of a roadster forgives little: fill the seams, sand the surfaces down and spray over a filler primer, otherwise every unevenness will stand out under the paint. Let the paint dry well and tune the gloss only with a clear coat. Do not glue the window frames and the bumpers with super glue, as it would cloud the transparent and the plated parts. Settle the decals on a gloss base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Further paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
