The real subject

The Zeta III is a full bucket racing seat from the Japanese firm Bride and is among the most frequently seen solutions in the Japanese tuning scene and in circuit specials. It was made with several types of shell - in fiberglass, in aramid and in a carbon-aramid weave - which differ in weight and in price, and it carried FIA homologation. The manufacturer has now replaced it with the Zeta IV type, so on a model it suits above all cars of the last two decades. Against a production seat the Zeta III has markedly deeper side bolsters, tall side wings by the head and openings for four- or six-point belts.

Building and painting tips

First rinse the resin parts in warm soapy water, so that the residue of the mold release agent and of the print resin disappears; without that the paint will not hold. Cut the supports and the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw, do not break them. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, not with cement for plastic. After the primer, spray the shell semi-gloss black and the cushion a matte shade, then bring out the stitching and the edges with a dry brush. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
