An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:24 scale in the Model Set edition, that is together with modeling paints, a brush and cement. The manufacturer gives 173 parts and the highest grade of its difficulty scale, so this is a broken-up build with a well worked interior. According to the manufacturer the decal sheet carries decorative stripes and registration plates for several countries including Germany, the Netherlands, France, Great Britain and the United States.
The T1 is the first generation of the Volkswagen commercial range, which went into production at the start of the 1950s and is popularly called the Bulli. You will know it by its split windshield and the large badge on the front. The Samba was the richest version, intended for sightseeing trips: it had a row of small windows around the roof and a large fabric roll-back top, so the passengers could see out over the landscape and up into the mountains.
The two-tone finish is the main effect on a Samba, so prepare quality masking tape and run the dividing edge exactly along the body molding. Bond the clear parts with glue for clear plastics; ordinary thin cement would fog the windows, and here there really are a great many of them. Finish the interior and fit it before you close the body up, because through the small windows you will no longer reach it. Lay the decorative stripes from the decals onto a gloss base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The set holds paints, a brush and cement; other accessories are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
