This is an injection-molded plastic kit of the Shelby Cobra 289 car of 1962 in 1:25 scale from Revell. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted and offers a faithful rendering of the shapes of this iconic open sports car. It consists of plastic parts for the body, the chassis, the interior and the engine.
The Shelby Cobra came about by joining a light British roadster body to an American V8. The 289 version carries a V8 of a displacement matching 289 cubic inches and became famous for an excellent power-to-weight ratio. The car turned into a legend of both road and race track in the 1960s and is still among the most sought-after classic sports cars.
Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic. Degrease the surface before painting and lay down a primer. The roadster body comes out best with a smooth gloss coat, and the chrome trim and the detailed interior give the build an authentic look. Apply the decals over a gloss surface.
