An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Chevrolet Silverado pickup of the 1999 model year in 1:25 scale, in the Street Pickup road conversion version. The manufacturer gives 150 parts, a multi-part V8 engine, a detailed interior and chassis and chrome-plated parts. The package holds decals and instructions. The level of difficulty matches a kit for a modeler who has already built a car or two, not a first model in a lifetime.
With the 1999 model year a new generation of Chevrolet Silverado pickups arrived and replaced the previous C/K line. It brought a new body, a stiffer frame, a reworked interior and Vortec engines, most often eight-cylinder units in the full-size trucks. The Silverado is among the best-selling vehicles on the North American market and at the same time became a favorite basis for road conversions: a lowered chassis, big wheels and a painted cargo bed. That is exactly the version this box offers.
It is good to wash the body before painting and to spray it with filler primer, so that the paint holds and the gloss stands out. On a clean surface it suits to apply the paint with an airbrush in several thin coats and to finish with a gloss varnish; only on a gloss base do the decals settle well. Do not glue the chrome-plated parts with cement for plastic, as the chrome dissolves under it; on the glued areas scrape it off or use cyanoacrylate glue. Finish the interior and the engine before you close the body up.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
