A large injection-molded plastic kit of the famous German fighter triplane Fokker Dr.I in the attractive 1:28 scale from the manufacturer Revell. The model, linked with the name of Manfred von Richthofen, the Red Baron, offers a richly detailed surface, a detailed radial engine, a detailed cockpit and figures, thanks to the large scale. The exact contents of the package and the range of markings are given by the manufacturer for this particular item.
The Fokker Dr.I was a German fighter triplane of the First World War and one of the most famous aircraft of its era. Three short wings set one above the other gave it outstanding agility and rate of climb. It was powered by a rotary engine. Many German aces scored their victories on this type, and Manfred von Richthofen made it more famous than anyone. It served at the close of the war in 1917 and 1918.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic; the large scale rewards careful painting of the cockpit and the engine before the fuselage is closed up. Do not forget the bracing: add the wires and cables between the wings and the cabane struts with taut thread only after painting. Finishes imitating the fabric of the period and varnished plywood surfaces suit it well; at the end bring out the texture of the ribbing with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
