This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:32 scale from the manufacturer Mikromir represents the early Italian experimental ultralight Caproni Pensuti triplane. Besides the plastic parts the set also contains small accessories for the engine and etched elements. It is a small but exceptionally charming and unconventional aircraft from the beginnings of aviation, which in the large 1:32 scale stands out as a collector piece.
The Caproni Pensuti was a very light experimental triplane designed by the Italian designer and test pilot Emilio Pensuti. It first flew at the very end of the First World War. Three short wings one above the other, a compact fuselage and a weak little engine made the machine literally a bicycle of the sky: it weighed only a few hundred kilograms, pilot included. It was a bold attempt at a miniature and economical aircraft rather than a design usable in combat.
Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic and glue the small etched and printed parts with cyanoacrylate glue. The key element is the rigging between the lifting surfaces: stretch fine thread between the wings and the struts, ideally only after painting, for a faithful period look. Imitate the wood and the fabric with subtle shades and glazes; the small engine deserves careful blackening and drybrushing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
