Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the Soviet biplane fighter Polikarpov I-153 Chaika in the large 1:32 scale from ICM. The model offers fine surface detail, a well-worked engine and cockpit and a decal sheet. The large scale lets the typical structure with the cranked upper wing show.
The I-153 Chaika, meaning seagull, was the last Soviet frontline biplane fighter. It got its name from the cranked upper wing in the shape of a seagull, which improved the pilot view out. Compared with older biplanes it brought retractable landing gear and a more powerful radial engine. It was used at the turn of the 1930s and 1940s and in the early stages of the war on the Eastern Front.
Pay attention to the cockpit and the engine, which show well in a large scale, and to the system of struts and bracing between the wings. Use thin cement for plastic, a primer and an airbrush. Bring out the fabric surfaces of the fuselage and the wings with fine transitions of color and a discreet wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
