The instrument panel is the first thing you see in an open cockpit, and in the large 1:32 scale every simplified shape on it shows. A replacement panel with sharply defined instruments therefore lifts the look of the cockpit more than hours spent painting the original part. The set is prepared for Eduard P-51 B Mustang kits and carries the LööK range designation.
The product is an add-on set for the instrument panel, not a kit. How many parts the set contains, whether further cockpit equipment comes with the panel and how the parts are made is given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer. It is therefore worth comparing the set with what your kit already has in the cockpit out of the box.
Dry-fit the cockpit area first, because a replacement panel is usually a different thickness from the original part and the mounting behind it sometimes needs a small adjustment. It is naturally fitted before the fuselage halves are joined. Cement for polystyrene will usually not work on add-on sets; the usual choice is cyanoacrylate applied in a tiny drop, and the binding procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions. Do not touch the finished panel with your fingers, because grease shows on it.
The set suits modelers building a large Mustang with the canopy slid back who want to raise the interior quickly without reworking parts themselves. The package holds only the add-on set; the kit, the paints and the glue are not supplied with it, unless stated otherwise.
