An injection-molded plastic kit of the 7.62 cm Pak 36(r) anti-tank gun in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian company ICM. The package contains a detailed gun and four figures of a German crew, so it suits use as the basis of a small artillery scene. According to the instructions the carriage can be built in the firing position or in the travel position.
The Pak 36(r) came about by rebuilding captured Soviet F-22 divisional guns, of which the Wehrmacht captured large numbers in 1941 and 1942. The Germans modified the chamber for a more powerful round, added a muzzle brake and altered the elevation; the result was an exceptionally effective anti-tank gun that was among the most powerful in Wehrmacht service until 1943.
Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement. First assemble the carriage, the shield and the breech and decide on the firing or the travel position. Glue the figures in parts, sand the seams and paint in layers from the shadows to the highlights. Paint the gun over a primer with an airbrush (a Dunkelgelb base), enliven the metal with light rubbing and apply dust with pigments; the scene will show to advantage on a small base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
