At the time it entered service the T-34 tank was an unpleasant surprise for anyone who stood against it. Sloped armor, wide tracks and a reliable diesel engine made up a combination the enemy was not prepared for. The 76.2 mm caliber gun managed both the fight against armored targets and fire on infantry positions, and the most widespread variant became the F-34 type. The stowage of ammunition in the hull was cramped and the loader dragged it out from under the floor, so empty cartridge cases piled up inside and during longer firing they flew out through the hatch. It is precisely this detail that makes discarded cartridge cases a rewarding element of a scene.
Tell the brass tone of the cartridge cases apart from the projectiles and do not let them shine with newness; oxidation and dirt will set them into their surroundings. Put some of the parts into the stowage and some loose on the floor or on the ground beside the machine. The small parts are joined with a glue of short setting time, and it pays to work over a light surface.
