This is an add-on set in 1:35 scale, not a model of the weapon. According to the name it holds three crates for 8.8 cm caliber ammunition. Crates belong to the group of accessories that say the most about a scene: they hint at what is about to happen here or what has just ended, and they take up hardly any room doing it.
Rounds of 8.8 cm caliber were long and heavy, so they were carried to the crew in sturdy crates which protected them from damp and from shaking and at the same time allowed them to be carried by two men. At a firing position the empty crates were set aside, stacked on one another, or served as an improvised seat or work surface. For a modeler that is worth knowing: crates stood about, half empty and scattered, turn a static scene into a story, while a tidy stack looks like a depot.
Do not leave the crates in a single shade; wood and metal both age unevenly, and a scuffed edge or a faded side will shift a scene at once. A dark wash into the seams and a dry brush on the edges and the fittings work well. Stand them in different positions, one open, one leaning against a wheel of a vehicle. The small parts are joined with a glue of short setting time.
