A large injection-molded plastic kit of the heavy transport helicopter CH-47D CHINOOK in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The large model offers a detailed fuselage, tandem rotors and a well worked out interior of the cargo compartment; the package usually includes metal landing gear parts, photo-etched parts and a film instrument panel.
The Boeing CH-47 Chinook is an American heavy transport helicopter with a characteristic pair of three-blade rotors in tandem. The CH-47D version came about by modernizing the older Chinook and entered service at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s. It serves for carrying troops, materiel and slung loads and is powered by a pair of turboshaft engines.
It is best to finish the interior of the cargo compartment and the cockpit first and only then to close the fuselage. Glue the rotors and the fine photo-etched parts with care, and the clear parts with a cement for transparent plastics. Given the size of the model an airbrush is useful; finish the matte coat with a wash and drybrushing to bring out the panels and the chipping.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
