A set of injection-molded plastic figures of Finnish soldiers from the Winter War in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian brand ICM. The package contains figures of Finnish riflemen in winter equipment from the period of 1939 and 1940, complemented by a figure of a reindeer. The detailed winter uniforms, weapons and equipment make the set a rewarding accessory for winter dioramas as well as a subject for figure painting in its own right.
The so-called Winter War was a conflict between Finland and the Soviet Union at the turn of 1939 and 1940. The Finnish soldiers became famous in it for their tenacity and their perfect mastery of fighting in harsh winter conditions; they often moved on skis and made use of white camouflage clothing that blended with the snow. The reindeer, as a draft and pack animal, was part of the typical picture of the northern theater of war.
Assemble the figures and clean up the mold parting lines. Apply a primer before painting; for painting the faces and the winter equipment, acrylic paints for figures and the technique of layering highlights and shadows are suitable. Do not leave the white camouflage clothing purely white - fine shadows and a hint of dirt will give it a realistic look. Pay attention to the transitions of the fur on the reindeer.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
