A plastic kit of the German Pz.Kpfw KV-1 756(r) (Trumpeter) in 1:35 scale — the Soviet heavy tank KV-1 captured and put into German service.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of a heavy tank in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. It captures the Soviet KV-1 captured by the Wehrmacht and put back into service under the German designation Pz.Kpfw KV-1 756(r); on this version the original gun was replaced by a German 7.5 cm weapon. The box holds parts in gray plastic, a clear part for the vision blocks, a photo-etched fret and the tracks for the running gear. The model builds as a classic kit, suitable even for more advanced beginners.
The KV-1 was a Soviet heavy tank of the Second World War with frontal armor of around 100 mm, which could withstand the German 37 and 50 mm anti-tank guns of the day. It weighed around 45 tons and, compared with its armor protection, had a relatively simple powertrain and running gear. A number of captured machines served the German army; some of them were rearmed with German weapons and given a commander's cupola, so that the vehicle fitted better into the Wehrmacht's training and logistic system and ammunition was easier to supply.
Before you close the hull, finish and paint the running gear and the underside of the tub, which are harder to reach once assembled. Assemble the tracks and set them with a slight natural sag. We recommend a primer, spraying with an airbrush and liquid cement for plastic; bond the small photo-etched parts with super glue. For a faithful look at a captured machine, use dark washes in the recesses, pigments for mud and dust effects and light chipping of the paint on the edges of the armor. Do not forget the correct German tactical markings, which turn a captured tank into a Wehrmacht machine.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
