Injection-molded plastic kit of the Italian battleship RN Roma in her 1943 form from Trumpeter in 1:700 scale. According to the instructions the model can be built with a full hull on a stand or as a waterline version. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; for the exact contents of the package and any photo-etched parts, follow the instruction sheet enclosed and the markings on the box.
Roma was a battleship of the Littorio (Vittorio Veneto) class, one of the largest and most powerful warships built in Italy. She carried main artillery of 381 mm caliber and modern anti-aircraft armament. In September 1943, on her way to the Allies after the armistice was declared, she was sunk by a German Fritz X guided bomb - one of the first successful hits by a guided weapon against a large ship.
With battleships, first glue and fill the hull carefully, so that the seams do not show. Paint the gun turrets and the superstructure separately and fit them only after the base coat. Bring out the deck with a thin wash into the engraved lines; fit the fine anti-aircraft barrels and the etched railings with cyanoacrylate only at the end. For a striking display case a period camouflage scheme of the Italian Navy works well too.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
