A young woman bathing in a tub is the subject of the civilian figure 1:35 Girl taking a bath in polyurethane resin from the Italian maker Royal Model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This civilian subject captures a young woman bathing in a tub, a scene from everyday life of the kind usually missing from military dioramas. Royal Model casts the figure in polyurethane resin, which holds crisp edges and the fine modeling of the face and hands. The item is sold unassembled and unpainted.
The motif points toward pictures of farmyards, farmsteads and makeshift billets of the kind that appear in scenes from the Second World War, where equipment meets everyday life. The figure acts as a counterweight to the machines: the viewer notices her before he notices another tank, and the scene gains a human dimension. It also works in a display case as a small piece in its own right.
Rinse the parts in warm soapy water and let them dry thoroughly, or the base coat will not adhere well. Remove the sprue gates with a saw, level the mating surfaces with a file and glue with cyanoacrylate. A glossy acrylic gel applied in several coats will suggest the surface of the water in the tub. On skin it pays to build the tone up in thin coats and to add the red and shadow accents only at the end.
The item is meant to be assembled and painted by the buyer; paints and glue are not supplied with it, unless stated otherwise.
