1:35 IDF LICENSE PLATES NO. 3 - IDF EARLY VEHICLES

Registration plates of Israeli vehicles in 1:35 scale, third sheet

An add-on sheet with the registration plates of early period Israeli army vehicles in 1:35 scale from ELEFANT. It is not a kit: the set contains no model and no parts of one, and serves solely to complete the markings of a vehicle model that is already built or under construction. It is the third part of a series; sheets with lower sequence numbers, carrying different plates, are sold separately.

What the accessory is for

Registration plates are among the details that bring a vehicle model closest to the real thing. A production kit either does not include them at all or deals with them in simplified form, and yet they are clearly visible on a model, usually on the front bumper and at the rear. A separate sheet gives the modeler the chance to choose a particular plate and to add it even to older kits that offer no markings at all in their original packaging. The focus on early Israeli vehicles determines which group of subjects the sheet suits.

How to work with it

Coat the area where the plate will go with gloss varnish compatible with the paint used; on a matte surface a silvery veil appears under the decal. Cut the individual motifs out close to the edge, soak them for a few seconds and move them onto the model with a soft brush. Fine-tune the settling with a softener and blot the excess water away with a piece of cloth. Once dry, unify the surface with matte or semi-gloss varnish and weather the plate lightly so that it does not look like a sticker.

Who the set is for

• builders of models of Israeli vehicles in 1:35 scale
• modelers whose kit lacks markings
• diorama builders who need to tell several vehicles apart
• modelers with experience of applying decals

This is an accessory to a model, not a kit. The vehicle model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
