An injection-molded plastic model of the armored reconnaissance car Panzerspähwagen P 204(f) in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian brand ICM. The model captures the German use of a captured French vehicle and offers a detailed structure with external detail, a rotating turret and a carefully worked running gear. Decals for several marking variants are included.
The real subject is the French armored car Panhard 178, which the German army captured after the defeat of France in 1940 and used under the designation Pz.Späh. 204(f) with the Wehrmacht as well as with Waffen-SS units. The vehicle had all-wheel drive and a rear engine; in its turret it carried a 25 mm antitank gun. The Germans used captured armored cars of this type for reconnaissance, for patrol duty and for protecting rear areas and railroad lines.
Assemble and paint the running gear and the interior of the hull before you close it up - once it is closed, access tends to be difficult. Glue the parts with modeling cement for plastic, and fill and sand the joints. Apply a primer before painting, then spray thin coats with an airbrush. The look of the vehicle will be brought to life by washes into the recesses and by pigments for mud and dust effects on the chassis.
