Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. L light reconnaissance tank, known by the name Luchs, in 1:35 scale. The late production designation in the name refers to a version corresponding to the later series, which differs from the early pieces in details of the superstructure and the equipment. Border Model is among the newer brands, with a finely engraved surface and separate parts for the running gear.
The Luchs was a light tracked reconnaissance vehicle derived from the Pz.Kpfw. II range. It had interleaved road wheels of large diameter, a turret with a 20 mm automatic cannon and a coaxial machine gun, and a crew completed by a radio operator, because the machine was intended for reconnaissance and for passing reports back, not for fighting armored targets. It was built in a small series and was committed with reconnaissance detachments. The armor was thin and the stress was put on speed and range.
Assemble the running gear and check that all the wheels sit in one plane before you close the hull up. Paint the space under the superstructure and the inside of the turret before the parts are glued together for good. The model is rewarding for broad effects: after the base color use filters to even the tone out, a wash into the corners around the bolts and the lifting eyes, and finally dust pigments on the underside of the hull and on the wheels. Let the tracks and the wheels dry completely first and only then apply the mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
