ICM 1:35 German mortar s.Gr.W.34 is a plastic set of the standard German mortar of the Second World War. An armament accessory for a diorama and figure scenes.

A set of injection-molded plastic parts from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM depicting the standard German mortar s.Gr.W.34 in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of a vehicle, but a weapon in its own right: an accessory with which you equip a diorama, a trench scene or a group of figures. The 1:35 scale is home ground for military modelers, so the set goes together without trouble with figures and vehicles from other manufacturers. ICM is known for fine engraving and clean moldings, which comes in especially handy on a small weapon where every part is on show.
The designation s.Gr.W.34 belonged to the German medium-heavy mortar of 8 cm caliber, which was the standard support weapon of infantry battalions during the Second World War. It broke down into three main parts, the barrel, the bipod and the baseplate, and in that form the crew carried it in pieces over longer distances. It was accurate, reliable and was deployed on practically every front. It served for indirect fire against targets behind obstacles in the terrain, that is where direct fire could not reach.
Separate the parts from the sprue with nippers and clean up the remains of the gates with a scalpel, not by breaking them off. Sand the mold seams with fine paper. With the bipod and the baseplate, dry-fit first to make sure the assembly stands straight and the barrel has a realistic elevation. It is glued with liquid cement for plastic, which wicks into the joint. Painting: a primer, a dark base shade of metal, then fine highlighting of the edges with a dry brush. A wash suits the recesses, and dust pigments the baseplate and the legs, because those are the most soiled in the field.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
