A short 7.5 cm gun turned the Sd.Kfz. 250 of late production into fire support for reconnaissance. The 1:35 Sd.Kfz. 250 NEU 7.5 cm KwK 37 L/24 set adds fine metal parts to it.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set adds fine metal elements to a model of the light half-track vehicle in the support version. It relates to the form with the late simplified hull. The basic model is not part of the delivery.
The weapon this version carried was originally intended for the first support tanks: a short 75 mm gun with a barrel 24 calibers long. The shell traveled slowly and on an arcing trajectory, but it could break up a machine gun nest or a light fortification, which the quick-firing 20 mm could not manage. Reconnaissance detachments thus had their own fire support at hand without having to wait for the artillery. Soldiers nicknamed this combination after the stump of its barrel. It was committed from 1944 in the west as well as the east, usually in small numbers within a reconnaissance company, and it complemented the vehicles armed only with the automatic cannon.
The shield of the gun and its mountings are among the most conspicuous parts where switching to metal really pays off. Before bending, hold the part in a flat jaw, so that the bend comes out crisp. Create the smoke deposits around the muzzle with a thin dark paint, not with black.
Neither chemicals nor the model itself are supplied with the accessories.
