Injection-molded plastic figure set Soviet Motorized Infantry (Soviet-Afghan War 1979–1988) in 1:35 scale from ICM - four figures from the later part of the Cold War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic figure set in 1:35 scale from ICM captures Soviet motorized infantry from the period of the Soviet-Afghan War. The set contains four figures - one officer and three soldiers in the period gear of the late Cold War. The figures suit scenes with the infantry fighting vehicles of that time.
The Soviet-Afghan War ran from 1979 to 1988, when a Soviet military contingent operated in Afghanistan. The motorized infantry of this period wore gear and camouflage uniforms different from those of the Second World War; body armor vests, magazine pouches and the helmets of the day were characteristic. The set therefore covers a less common, late Cold War subject.
Cut the parts from the sprues, clean up the sprue gates and the mold lines and glue them with liquid cement for plastic; glue the small parts such as the hands, the weapons and the gear separately. Paint the figures with a brush - the faces and hands with a layering technique, the camouflage uniforms patiently in layers, and set the gear apart with a different shade. Pick out the folds with a fine wash and add dust and sand with light pigments. Mount the figures on a temporary stand while you work.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
