Injection-molded plastic figure set in 1:35 scale from ICM. The box contains four figures of Soviet sappers, a figure of a dog and a pack animal, so you can build a whole small scene of an engineer patrol in the field from it. The figures are modeled in natural poses while scouting and securing a route.
The engineer units of the Soviet army were among the hardest worked during the war in Afghanistan from 1979 to 1988. They handled the reconnaissance of roads, the detection and clearance of mines and booby traps and the security of convoy movement in difficult mountainous terrain. The soldiers therefore often used pack animals to carry equipment, and trained dogs. The figures capture the field uniform and gear of the day, typical of this deployment.
Separate the figures from the sprue carefully, clean up the mold lines and glue the joints with liquid cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting. The faces and hands are best painted by building up layers and glazing, and the uniforms can be handled with an airbrush followed by drawing in the shadows and the wear. Careful work on the faces will give the whole scene life.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
