An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet T-54 medium tank in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The model faithfully captures the characteristic low hemispherical turret and the long barrel of the main weapon. Take the actual contents of the box and its equipment from the instructions supplied.
The T-54 was a Soviet medium tank whose development followed on from the famous T-34 at the close of the Second World War and whose series production began shortly after it. It was marked by a low silhouette, well-sloped armor and a striking rounded cast turret. The main armament was a 100 mm rifled gun. Together with the derived T-55 it became one of the most produced tanks in history and served in many armies for decades.
On tanks, pay attention to the running gear and to setting it together correctly before closing the hull. Clean the track links of casting flash and try to fit them with a slight sag in the upper run, which looks realistic. Use thin cement on the plastic and sand the joints down after filling. The base is a uniform dark green coat; depth comes from dark washes into the recesses, emphasis of the edges with a dry brush and dust and mud pigments on the tread and the lower hull. Worn spots on the edges are suggested with a dark steel color.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
