A painting aid prepared directly to the shape of a particular vehicle. It makes it possible to lay a pattern on with an airbrush so that it sits on the faceted hull and looks regular from both sides. Neither the model of the carrier nor paints are supplied with it.
The Sd.Kfz. 250 was created as a smaller complement to the widespread medium carrier and was built on a shortened half-track chassis. The designation 250/1 belongs to the basic version for carrying half a squad of infantry, and the abbreviation in the name refers to the light armored infantry carrier. The attribute alte, that is older, distinguishes the original hull of many separately welded surfaces from the later simplified form with fewer facets. It is this early version that appears with reconnaissance detachments in North Africa and on the Eastern Front, and it is popular because its angular shape comes out well under a camouflage pattern.
Let the base shade cure thoroughly, ideally overnight. Lay the stencil on as tightly as possible, press it down with a finger at the edges of the hull and spray at a right angle from the top down. Choose thinner paint and light coats; a heavy dose will creep under. Unify the transitions at the end with a light overcoat and seal the whole model with varnish before weathering.
