The set is a building accessory, not a model of the vehicle. It brings spare road wheels for the StuG III and the Panzer III in 1:35 scale in both rim widths, that is 75 mm and 95 mm, in the disc pattern that the manufacturer designates with the letter F. On these vehicles the disc pattern is what decides the fidelity of the detail: it can be told apart in period photographs and it changed between production batches.
The StuG III was created on the Panzer III chassis as an assault gun for direct infantry support and it gradually became the most numerous German tracked fighting vehicle of all. Together with the Panzer III it shared road wheels with a rubber tire, the disc of which took several forms during production. Crews carried spare wheels on the rear of the hull in brackets, and they often came from a different batch than the wheels on the running gear. For a model that means that one differing wheel adds a credibility that the series running gear on its own cannot give.
Separate the wheels from the print supports, level the mating surfaces and sand them wet with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue; cement for plastic does not attack resin. Apply a primer before painting. Do not make the tire black but a matte dark gray, and put more dust on the wheel than on the hull. Mark the worn spots on the disc with graphite or with a dry brush in a metallic shade.
It is an accessory set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
