An injection-molded plastic kit of the American aircraft carrier in 1:350. This is an extensive project: a model of an aircraft carrier in this scale is over half a meter long and the build takes considerably more time than an ordinary model of an aircraft or a vehicle. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted. For the intended placement of the finished model, think out room in a display case and the way of transporting it in advance.
The Enterprise with the hull number CV-6 was an aircraft carrier of the Yorktown class, commissioned in the second half of the 1930s. She was among the most heavily used American ships of the Second World War in the Pacific and took part in the key operations of that theater. In structure she was a ship with an open forward part of the hangar, an island superstructure on the starboard side and steadily growing anti-aircraft armament that changed several times during the war. That is exactly why the configuration of the ship differs with the year, so check photographs of the period for the time you want to build.
Divide the build into parts: the hull, the flight deck, the island and the small armament. The hull calls for careful filling and sanding, and with the waterline as well as the full version, think out in advance which you will build. The flight deck is the largest area of the model, so the spraying and the decals have to sit well on it; spray in thin coats and use a gloss varnish under the decals. Fit the small barrels and masts only at the end. Supplementary photo-etch (railings, radars, nets) will lift the model a great deal, but it is not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Finally a flat varnish, a fine wash into the deck seams and restrained weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
