An injection-molded plastic kit of the car in 1:43 from the long-running automotive range of the French brand Heller. The 1:43 scale is well established among car collectors: a finished model fits into an ordinary display case, a collection keeps a uniform size and the build is shorter than in the large scales. The manufacturer gives the number of parts and the contents of the box on the packaging of the kit.
The Porsche 928, introduced in the second half of the 1970s, was untypical for the brand. In place of an air-cooled engine at the rear it received a water-cooled V8 at the front and a transmission at the rear by the axle, which gave the car a balanced weight distribution. It came about as a touring gran turismo for long journeys rather than as a sharp sports special, and in 1978 it won the European Car of the Year title. It stayed in production with gradual changes until the mid-1990s, but in the end it did not take over the role of successor to the 911.
In a small scale the cleanness of the surface is decisive: sand and fill the parting lines on the body, or you will see them under the gloss finish. Spray in thin coats, because a heavy layer of paint in 1:43 fills fine edges and the model loses its crispness. Glue the glazing and the bright trim only at the end and only in spots, so that the clear parts are not damaged.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
