The ICM 1:48 Douglas A-26C-15 Invader plastic kit captures the American attack bomber in the form with a glazed nose.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from ICM represents the American twin-engined Douglas A-26C-15 Invader attack bomber in the version with a glazed nose for the bombardier. The model offers a broken-down surface and a detailed rendering of this capable aircraft.
The Douglas A-26 Invader was a fast American attack and bomber aircraft that entered service at the end of the Second World War and went on serving for decades afterwards in further conflicts. The A-26C version had a glazed nose with a position for the bombardier and a bombsight, unlike the attack version with a solid nose full of machine guns.
First finish the cockpit interior and the bombardier position, then close the fuselage. Mask the glazing of the nose and the canopy. Build the engine nacelles and the landing gear separately. Pick out metal and gloss surfaces with suitable shades and refine the panel lines with a wash. An airbrush gives an even finish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
