1:48 B-26K Counter Invader is a kit of the rebuilt American attack aircraft deployed in the Vietnam War.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American twin-engine attack aircraft B-26K in 1:48. It is the rebuilt form of an older wartime type, adapted for fighting ground targets in the conditions of Southeast Asia. Its unmistakable mark is the large tanks on the wingtips.
In the 1960s the original attack aircraft from the end of the Second World War turned out to suit long patrols over the jungle and precise strikes on ground targets, which fast jets handled less well. The machines therefore went through an extensive rebuild: they received a strengthened wing structure, new engines and propellers, tip tanks for longer endurance and a greater number of pylons under the wing. The result was a machine that could stay over the target for a long time and carry a large load of ordnance.
Finish and paint the cockpit before you close the fuselage. Fit the tip tanks and the underwing stores only after the wing has been painted, otherwise you will not reach the areas between them. The radial engines come out well with ignition harness added from thin wire. The Southeast Asian scheme combines a dark upper surface with a black underside, so the model comes to life with lightened upper surfaces and traces of service on the wing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
