An injection-molded plastic kit of the German fighter Messerschmitt Bf 109F-4 in 1:48 scale from ICM. It is the version known as the Friedrich, which brought aerodynamically cleaner airframe shapes. The kit offers finely engraved surface detail, a well-worked cockpit, an engine and a segmented clear canopy. Decals for several marking variants are in the box.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109F is one of the most elegant versions of this famous fighter. Compared with the earlier machines it received rounded wingtips, cleaner cowling and an unbraced tailplane. The F-4 version was powered by the DB 601E engine and carried fuselage machine guns together with an MG 151/20 cannon firing through the propeller hub. Friedrichs fought on all the main battlefields of the early 1940s and were feared opponents of the Allied fighters.
Use thin cement for plastic and build in subassemblies. Finish and paint the cockpit and the engine before closing the fuselage. Apply primer and lay the colors on with an airbrush; typical are transitions of gray and blue-gray shades with soft mottling. Treat the glazing of the segmented canopy with masks for clean framing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
